My name is Jacquie Wilson, aka the ‘Turquoise Celebrant’, working in the Cotswolds and surrounding counties.
My journey as a celebrant came later in life, qualifying in late 2021.
In hindsight, which we all know is a wonderful thing… I believe my whole life has been about working towards becoming a Celebrant. I’m blessed to continue a journey in my life, which has always been about looking after other people. Ensuring my clients feel I was their guardian angel, enjoying great adventures together with lots of laughter and tears along the way.
I left Scotland aged 17 to embark on my own adventure. I didn’t have a grand plan, but I have had an amazing career.
My career in PR took off at around age 18 and I loved every minute of every day. Working for a luxury hotel and then for greeting card giant Hallmark Cards, before heading to Surrey to work for Jacqueline Gold and the Ann Summers empire. Her father and uncle asked me to also help with PR during their purchase of Birmingham City Football Club, as well as arranging interviews for them at home and away games.
In late 1994, I had a call from a recruitment agency, the lottery had just launched and I was invited for an interview to join the press office!
The rest as they say is history, over 20 years spent looking after National Lottery winners, it was the job of myth and legends.
I moved to Scotland around 2010, it was the perfect time to think about retiring from PR... I turned my communication skills to wedding and event planning at a luxury five star hotel on the west coast of Scotland. It was hard work, very long hours, the reward however of seeing over 1300 couples celebrating their wedding, their way, made it all worth while.
March 2020 changed the British landscape and late 2020 we returned to the Cotswolds. It was a new chapter and an idea to train as a Celebrant was planted… the rest as they say is history.
I have a passion for words, I adore being the safe pair of hands helping people in life changing situations. As a Celebrant I want your ceremony to be perfect, and completely compliment all your other plans for your ceremony.
I’d love to hear from you and chat about why you need a Celebrant, Hopefully I might just be the right one for you…
First things first, I find the colour turquoise peaceful. Secondly, its vast history, associations, and connotations seamlessly align with my home life and how I style myself as a celebrant.
Turquoise symbolises friendship, analytical thinking, and creative energy, bringing peace to the home and good luck to the owner. As the stone of communication, it's perfect for public speaking, allowing for eloquence, honestly and protection.
Dating back to 5000 B.C, this gift from mother nature, ruled by Venus and Neptune, captivated ancient kingdoms to believe in its power to protect, alongside its tranquil energy and association to enduring love. Turquoise represents wisdom, tranquillity, protection, good fortune, and hope.
What better stone, colour, and symbol to represent my heart-led, bespoke celebrant service.
The colour Turquoise represents wisdom, tranquility, protection, good fortune and hope.
By law, only registrars and religious leaders can conduct legal marriages. Celebrants deliver wedding ceremonies for couples who have already ‘’tied the knot’ in a registry office. Celebrants have become popular for couples that want to have their wedding at a venue that isn’t licenced for the purpose, think beaches, riversides, on top of a hill; in your own garden… the list is long.
Weddings that involve a couple from differing cultures, may wish some religious or secular elements in their ceremony. This can be difficult to arrange in a church or registry office.
Lots of couples are definitely enjoying doing the legal part of their ceremony in the registry office mid-week, then have a celebrant conduct a ceremony for family and friends, which is a show and tell about their love for each other.
Budget is essential planning any gathering, and my fees are listed. After our initial consultation, I will send you a full and final quote, outlining charges so you know the cost of my services as your Celebrant.
I hope I could make the perfect addition to your ceremony, with my event planning experience. I’m happy to help with any questions you have about putting together your event timeline, as well as share any other ideas you may find useful.
I’d love to hear from you and chat about why you need a Celebrant, hopefully I just be the right one for you….
